Really nice work! 30 min passed and I didn't even noticed it. Bit of bug report: The game crashed at "associate 5", first it didn't combined the blocks, the it stopped spawning and than crashed. I don't know how web vesions work, but some sort of save would be nice. (Also I think this would be perfect for mobile platforms as well). But again really awesome work!

I'm not sure what happened with the crash you've experience, I've changed the ways some of the machine behave, and I didn't get time to test every possible outcome. I'll make sure to test it more.
As for the save, it's something that I want to implement, but I've ran into some weird behaviors in Godot, I need to do a little more research to know how I should be doing it.
And I do plan on releasing the game on mobile at some point, but I want to focus on the Steam version first, the mobile version will come after :)
What a satisfying puzzle that trains your brain! It took me a minute to figure things out because I accidentally started at the tutorial's last level, haha.

junior 8 level aint working for me and i tried 2 different solutions but it keeps turning red i tried assembling a horizontal assembler then rotate, to no avail i also tried stacking 1 bar on a big square which also didn't work
The Stacker works in a way where the block going in a straight line will always be the one at the bottom of the stack. This is not clearly indicated in the tutorial and I intend to have a more visual way to explain that. Hope that helps, if you're still stuck, the Walkthrough has the solution for that level, you can find the link in the option menu.
I'm sorry you had trouble solving some of the levels. Every single level is possible, I design them with a Level Editor that forces me to have a goal type machine. Some of them are more challenging then others, but I've made it so if someone plays the levels in order, the difficulty ramps up slowly.

I liked the puzzle design in this game, last puzzle is really tricky! The merging mechanic could've been a little more intuitive, as the order of overlapping (based on order of which block enters the machine first) was kinda inconsistent at times for me. Overall great game, looking forward for the release.
The Stacking machine actually stacks the block perpendicular to the output and input on top of the other one... It's kinda hard to explain, I'll try and make the tutorial a little more clear so people don't get mixed up too much.

Was confused in level 4, where they merged in the wrong order and next time I think I did exactly the same, and they merged in the right order. %)
I think scaler boxes should work on all types of input. In level 5 it works on squares, but not on stripes (merged or not). Ah, OK, so I needed to use the other scaler boxes, from row 2. I thought they were for cutting, not scaling, because from the tutorial I concluded exactly this...
Would be great to be able to read all the rules during the game too, not just when playing tutorial levels.
Stopped playing at level 13, as I don't understand how to change the order of merging (was lucky in the previous levels).
I know the stacking machine can be a little confusing at time, I'm planning on reworking the tutorial to make it a little clearer. I'll also follow your suggestion and make it so the tutorial is always available somewhere, that would remove some of the frustration of not knowing what to do.
Amazing game, really liked reverse engineering the problems. The art style is very nice, fits the tone of the game perfectly, OST does stimulate my urge to solve things. Wish there was like a level editor or some other way to spend more time with the game. Add some fluff on top and this game could be placed on steam and perform pretty well IMO
I do have a level editor in the game, that's how I actually make the levels. It needs some tweaking, but I think it could be adapted so that player can use it too.
Do you have any fluff you'd like in there? I was thinking Level Selector / Overworld Map, more machine types and Block that can have colors that needs to be stacked. If you have other ideas, I'm listening :)
I’ll chime in here unprovoked and say that the one thing I’d love to see is a level selector, would be nice to go back and try to see if there are other ways to solve some of the puzzles! I’ll echo what was said above and say that a level editor would be awesome as well. Really well made game, loved it and actually played through the whole thing, rare for me in game jams of this size I’ll admit!

I think that the biggest thing for me would be some sort of level sharing platform in game. Being able to view other's levels and compete in something, maybe time, maybe blocks used etc. would be really fun.
I also think that making every block output something no matter what could be interesting. Like, trying to shrink a white 1*1 with a black middle spot would give give a full black 1*1. Maybe the block that assembles pieces will also shrink them if necessary? You get the point, not giving out the raw input is cool. Because, once you laid down some rules on how things change and when, you allow these rules to be abused for unexpected puzzles. Inspired by that one portal level where you use that fact that the cube dispenser destroys the cube when activated to unpress a button
Also yeah, more colors could be fun, not sure how the inverter would work or how they would interact with each other, maybe by going around the color wheel?
So something similar to Opus Magnum or something like that? I have a Level Editor that I'm planning on releasing in a future release and I was wondering if people would be interested in participating in a Level Design competition to win some keys to the game. The best levels could also be added to the game with the consent of the ones who made them.

The Expander and Shrinker can now work mutiple time, the shrinker even reducing Blocks into nothingness if used multiple times. This opens some interesting doors for more complex levels later on. The other machines will also do something no matter what, or maybe even break if not given the correct input.
The color idea is still on standby, has it would prevent people with color bliendness to enjoy the game. But I will see if it eventually makes it in.
I have played opus magnum recently actually, it's really fun, but anyway. A level editor competition could be fun and I would 100% compete. learning from opus, more colors make things very complicated, so I think it's better to stand with 2 colors for now
Impressive game for a game jam. Great level of polish, but I wish there was some visual indication when I was dragging a machine to be placed in the level. Cool entry!
